Hey, Don't Forget Me!
The chances of a mail carrier passing by this unique rural mailbox are pretty slim! Did you know that rural delivery represents about 6% of Canada Post's 14 million daily points of delivery? It is unfortunate, but many of these letter boxes are slowly being replaced by the large, impersonal community boxes. On the bright side – or shall I say right side? – there is talk of implementing right-side-driver postal vehicles to ensure safe rural mail delivery, but seeing will be believing. For now the drivers will continue – very carefully – getting in and out of their vehicles every few metres to manually place mail in the individual letter boxes.
