Papaye VerteBeh, non, n'est pas Papaye Rouge!! This evening for the first time in a very long time (sad to admit, I know), I met a group of friends and we went for dinner to the Thai restaurant The Green Papaya in Gatineau, just across the Ottawa River. It was challenging to translate the Thai menu that was written in French, but this was the sole purpose of our outing actually – to extend our French skills beyond the walls of the classroom. Naturally, cheating was out of the question, but if need be, the English subtitles could come in handy. Fortunately, our selections were perfect, the evening was a success, and we discovered a dash or two of soul purpose along the way!
