Open Door Policy
It was such an uplifting sight to discover this stunning Catholic Basilica with its doors wide open in the middle of the day, let alone in the middle of the week. I don't know how it is in your part of the world, this is a rarity here in Canada. Located in the downtown core, on Kent Street, St. Patrick's Basilica offers convenient opportunities to 'visit', with Masses scheduled for 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and again at 4:30 p.m. (to catch those on their way home from work). They also offer an opportunity to chat with the priest in the confessional 15 minutes beforehand.
And, to be even more conveniently approachable, St. Patrick's even has their own Facebook page! Yes, really. I am rather impressed that this 155 year-old church, although working on a facelift at the moment, has stepped into the modern age – sharing information and spiritual message via modern technology.

That is such a brightly colored door! Most unusual for a Catholic church. The details are gorgeous.
Most Catholic churches here are open from 6am until 8pm everyday, sometimes longer depending on the location.
