Knock, Knock. Who's There?

Well, actually they didn't knock in this case because we weren't on their list. They were playing basketball with our sons and we came out to see who the voices belonged to! This past weekend, Captain Cameron Fletcher and his friendly crew from the Ottawa Fire Department went door-to-door to promote their annual Wake Up! Smoke Alarm program. It's an educational program to ensure that homeowners and renters don't take for granted that their fire alarms are working. It is recommended that you actually check them once a month and replace entirely if the unit is over 10 years old. And remember to keep those basketballs in their place, should you have the misfortune of needing to make a quick escape... you just never know.
