Well, Hello There....
Forgive my manners, I forgot to catch this beauty's name, but am thinking we won't meet again. This 'Slithering Susan' (as we'll call her) was one of many local species-at-risk we were introduced to by a Little Ray's Reptiles zoologist at a picnic our family attended this afternoon. Ray's Reptiles is a relatively small zoo that showcases both exotic and locally found snakes, lizards, reptiles and four-legged creatures. Their big hit is the touring van of reptiles that can be hired for education-slash-entertainment purposes at events ranging from corporate picnics to kids' birthday parties. I would never dare to get this close to a snake in any other situation, trust me! And, as she is on the endangered species list, my chances of seeing another Eastern Ratsnake are pretty slim.

Ooh, this is an awesome snake portrait! I wouldn't want to be this close to the real thing though.
Wonderful close-up!
Hey, thanks:)
Isn't Slithering Susan a cutie!
