Return From Camping
It was a memorable couple of days with the family at Fitzroy Harbour Provincial Park. Occasions like this aren't necessarily about the time away and what was done in particular, but more about the small details. Example: while on a quiet walk in the woods we discovered a bright red cardinal. Then, upon turning around, the sunlight came through the trees to kiss the heads of these morels growing on the mossy north side of a tree, the glimmer catching my eye. Not 100% certain as to their true identity, the specs are leaning towards the Honey Mushroom or the Jack-O-Lantern variety. In my research, I discovered that the area has so many different types of fungi and wild mushrooms growing; it really is a mycologist's heaven.

It is really a wonderful shot. It's fantastic to see how supposed dead things can be livelihood for other creatures.
