Love Locks
Shortly after Eric's post about the Love Locks in Paris, I received an email informing me that the same trend was happening here in Ottawa, as part of the Rideau Canal Festival. Today we had a chance to go down to the Rideau Locks near the Bytown Museum to see for ourselves just what the whole phenomenon is all about... and our family had to participate, of course!:) Saskatoon artist Monique Martin designed a metal heart from which the locks are hung, representing the visitor's special connection to the site. Hey Angela, great to see indeed that all over the world these hearts arise. We haven been in Ottowa last August and i loved the city. We saw Bymarket and the street artists, the changing of the guards and went to the museum of canadian civilization (we had a day of severe rain) and then had to move on to Toronto.
