Say It In Red
Tomorrow – July 1st – is Canada's 143rd Birthday Party. The line-up includes a visit from Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, a fly-over by the Snow Birds, an RCMP Musical Ride, entertainment by many well-known Canadian musicians, citizenship ceremonies, fireworks, etc. etc etc. The list is really quite impressive... and modern. When we step into the Time Machine at the Textile Museum, however, we step back 100 years when we dive into their exhibit "Say It In Red". Here we discover a typical pioneer lifestyle and a much simpler time, all spoken through red thread on a white canvas. Red and white – Canada's colours of pride, strength and honour. Happy Canada Day, everyone!
