Bicycle Month
Each June, the area of Mississippi Mills celebrates Bicycle Month. When we discovered this exhibit at the Textile Museum in Almonte this afternoon, we could not help but smile! This 'bird' is created out of selectively placed bike parts and then creatively dressed in multi-coloured wool. Cute and clever!
On a more serious note, if you have a bike you'd like to donate for a good cause, NGO Focus on Development is collecting bikes for destitute adults and kids in Haiti. The organization is also in need of cash donations as they have to pay to ship the bikes overseas themselves.
