Everyone Welcome
Pakenham is another little community not far from Ottawa. It is actually one of 14 communities that makes up the Town of Mississippi Mills. When you drive through the village, it is humble and unassuming. Then, overlooking the village, you see the impressive spire from the Church out of the corner of your eye! This gorgeous Roman Catholic Church is St. Peter Celestine, and stands in the classical style typically found in the churches of southern Europe. The style was originally introduced to Canada by the French in the 17th century and can be commonly found in churches all over Quebec. In Ontario, this style is quite rare which is why it is considered to be one of the 7 Wonders of Lanark County. Enjoy your tour!:)

Magnificent shot, Angela! I have a fascination with church architecture, which is one of the things I loved about Toronto and Quebec — so many different and wonderful styles!
Very impressive ..
We visited Ottawa a few years back and really enjoyed our stay.
