Final Flag for Former Fire Chief
With a full honour guard of approximately 100 uniformed firefighters present, and flags hung at half-mast, retired Fire Chief Donald McCormick was laid to rest this morning in Ottawa. Although he was 75, his passing is considered to be in 'the line of duty'. A firefighter for about 30 years, he had health issues and recently contracted a neurological disorder due to chemical inhalation on the job. It was really quite overwhelming to see such respect for a person who devoted his life to helping others.
On a lighter note:
And that flag – it was actually that huge flag that caught my attention in the first place, and is definitely the largest one I have ever laid my eyes upon!

Firefighters are heros! Veterans are heros! It's important to honor and remember them! We honored two WWII veterans today at our weekly Eagan Rotary lunch meeting today!
Awesome - huge flag!
An impressive ceremony
