Before there was a Canada Post....
there was a much-less-organized French tradition that dates back to the 1700's: the exchange of notes and letters. This particular mailbox dates back not quite that far, and is located on the façade of Maison John Foran, constructed in 1839. If you are interested in learning more about the heritage and people of Old Aylmer, you may consider taking an upcoming walking tour with the Aylmer Heritage Association.
