Now you can enjoy daily images (that's the plan, but you know how life goes sometimes!) from in and around Canada's Beautiful Capital Region. And perhaps one day you will want to explore the area for yourself. Who knows? You may just not want to leave!
Just a Few Quick Tidbits:
Ottawa is Canada’s capital and the country’s fourth largest city with a population of approximately 865,000 people living within the city limits. It has a natural "cityscape" in that the national Capital Region is almost 80 per cent rural! Temperatures can range from 33°C (91°F) in summer to -40°C (-40°F) in winter. Ottawa is Canada's most affordable city and has just been ranked 2nd in Canada as the most desirable city to raise a family.

As I missed my Holiday blogs and am a firm believer in second chances... here goes... Merry Christmas, everyone. Today is Ukrainian Christmas and, interestingly enough, the province of Ontario has the largest Ukrainian-speaking population in Canada of over 336,000. However, according to a 2006 census, only about 21,520 of that Ukrainian population live in the Ottawa-Hull area.
Traditionally it is a solemn occasion, but I thought I'd lighten things up a bit. I'm half Ukrainian myself and so can be gently sarcastic (a genetic trait apparently). As well, Canada is a cultural mosaic; happily offering the freedom to celebrate our differences and whimsical ideas.
