The Blue Door...
is very enticing, especially when it's such a blustery grey day. But, as you can see, not much is going on in St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church on Cumberland in Lowertown. The Writer's Festival doesn't occur again until April, but surely there must be some reason to sweep those stairs before then!? Apparently the 120 year old Church was closed in 2006 due to rising operational / maintenance costs imbalanced with a dwindling congregation. The building is now being used as an Irish-Canadian heritage centre / social venue that hosts arts events of all media: such as the Writer's Festival where local authors get to introduce themselves to a welcoming audience.

It looks pretty and welcoming with the BLUE door, and The Writer`s Festival sounds interesting.
I am now your follower number 27.... ;-)
Bright, cheery doors! I like the church photo with the snow!
Appropriate as she is the patron saint of poets and writers. Her day is 1st February, perhaps they will sweep the stairs then :)
Thanks for enlightening us, Margaret!:) My brain must have been frozen as I didn't even think of that possibility!! Here's the Wikipedia link in case anyone wants to read more...
