Not so uncommon a sight...
It's a good thing he was driving so slow and that I don't use the view-finder on my camera. Better yet, I probably shouldn't be taking a photo while driving! Did I mention that 40% of the Ottawa region is rural? Which is why this farm vehicle on the road is not so uncommon a sight as you may think, and why the Ministry of Transportation has published a simple guidebook for farmers to follow. Agriculture is SO thriving in the Ottawa area – alone accounting for $150 million of the GDP – with over 300,000 acres devoted to over 1,300 agricultural operations. I even heard somewhere that the amount of farming that occurs in all of Ontario is more than the three Prairie provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba put together.
