DND's Jeep Fetish
Practical. Resilient. Low Maintenance. In World War II, Canada produced nearly one million vehicles for use by Commonwealth nations. The Canadian Army was also one of the first users of the "Jeep", one of which is preserved and apparently on display at the Canadian War Museum. This particular model, however, is on display on a training base near Ottawa.
There have been 133 Canadian Forces casualties in Afghanistan. Until 2008, Stephen Priestley, Researcher, Canadian American Strategic Review had been tracking the vehicle-related casualities to vehicle type, until the CF began keeping the vehicle information secret, and its' reason for keeping such information is also secret. Of course it is.

Hi Angela,
Just saw this Jeep a couple of weeks ago at the War Museum.
We are also residents of Ottawa, though not originally from here, and strange to have discovered your charming site through a French blog!
Your photos are lovely, thoughtful and very well done. Having a great time looking at past posts!
Cheers, and all the best,
John
