Have Yourself a Sweet Tooth?
If you are downtown Ottawa and feeling in need of something sweet, you may want to head down to the corner of William and George Streets to pick yourself up a BeaverTail pastry. In 1978, the flat whole wheat pastry shaped like a national symbol's tail was first introduced by Grant and Pam Hooker and has now become a favourite treat for locals and visitors alike. For toppings, you can choose from a wide selection ranging from cinnamon & sugar to chocolate sauce & bananas to a true Canadian specialty: Maple Syrup. Even President Obama made a special detour to pick one up while on his trip to the Ottawa area this past February! Planning a visit during the winter months? Not to worry, you can pick up one (and a hot chocolate) from a kiosk situated on the Rideau Canal. But don't forget your skates!

Well, Leif, you may have trouble deciding which to sample. I forgot to mention they have about 20 varieties of toppings!
