Busy Beaver
Officially Canada's national symbol only since 1975, the beavers are quiet, unassuming, hardworking little creatures. And with the warmer weather having finally decided to stay this time around, seems not only we human folk are getting on with the Spring cleaning. " ...a nation needs emblems and symbols to preserve traditions and inspire love of country," said Charles Frederick Hamilton of the R.C.M.P (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) back in 1921. And so those wise words seem to have reflected accurately, as here we are nearly 100 years later, still going strong. Care to share with us the symbols of your native country?
