Manotik Farm
The other day I discovered a Facebook Group called I Love Cabanons (based in the South of France) *sigh dreamily* and today I found my own charmingly ancient farm to photograph. Although (believe it or not) this farm in need of a loving hand is still functional! What attracted my attention was the silo – you could see right through it. I thought it was only the frame, with the horizontal joists, yet a little further down the road, there was another just like it.
In this area of Manotik, in the Osgoode Township west of Ottawa, farming has been an important part of the local economy since the 1850s when 50 families (according to the 1851 Census of Agriculture) came from Ireland and settled here. Not only did they plant their familial roots, but planted crops, chopped trees and sheared sheep.

It's probably dilapidated for real, but your beautiful photo makes it look so lovely and charming! And I love that big old tree too!
