Interdependencies #2
Pictured here is an installation piece by ceramic artist Cynthia O'Brien that was commissioned by the City of Ottawa in 2009 and is representational of the Goulbourn Township (although difficult to get that from this photo!). According to O'Brien, "Each amphora houses communal knowledge and experience of the previous generation..." In fact, on many of the backs of these hand-tooled leaves, the artist has inscribed some of the local family names. Amazing to behold, more than 2,000 unique ceramic leaves are creatively placed amongst a living, thriving wall to form a tree that is based on the configuration of the townships' streets. Located in the Goulbourn Recreation Centre, the wall stands two storeys tall and approximately 10 feet wide.

very nice colours indeed! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Very "artsy-fartsy" > that's a compliment! Love the leaves' textures and colors!
