Sometimes You Just Need a Break...
We've had fair weather the last couple of days and the Rideau Canal – the World's Largest Skating Rink – has definitely suffered in spite of efforts on the part of the NCC (National Capital Commission). Sections were melting, there were pits and slush everywhere... all circumstance to make the excursion even more treacherous, especially for little leggies such as his. We skated back and forth over half of the 4.3 km section that is presently open of the Canal, at the end near Lansdowne Park and the Bank Street Bridge. One benefit about skating conditions not being ideal: you can skate at your own pace and not have to worry about tailgaters, as it's not crowded in the least. We'll have to go back again when it gets a bit colder, after the Canal has a chance to freeze over again.

I'm glad you got in some skating, despite the slush. And I hope that banner doesn't fall on anyone!
