Snow Bank Removal
We sure did have a busy morning around here as the snow bank removal crew were hard at work, making the roads safe once again. Can be pretty dicey trying to get out of your driveway when you can't see over snow piled nearly five feet high, let me tell you! I was going to enthrall you all with knowledge of the City's budget for such work, and what the snowfall is to date, but neither bits of info were to be had.
Having responsibilities, I couldn't leave you hanging. On my hunt for mesmerizing statistics, I discovered this site: Snowiest Places in Canada. Very interesting, indeed, and made me realize that winter here in Ottawa really is quite bearable and entertaining... provided you're dressed for the weather! We're donning our skates, fleece and long johns (hot chocolate and Beaver Tails, too) this weekend, as a matter of fact, because the Rideau Canal skateway – The World's Largest Skating Rink – launched its 40th Season today. Photos to follow, of course.

This looks and sound very much like the winter we have here at the moment.
Great action shot! Enjoy the skating rink and the weekend!:-)
I saw the twin brother to that snow removal machine just yesterday in EAGAN! I was surprised by the huge size of the snow blower!
