Pecha Kucha Night Ottawa
No, I didn't mean Machu Picchu!!:) Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be a real and true superhero? Or have you ever wanted to eat Jell-O® next to a railway track so you can experience the full jiggle as the train passes by? Or have you given thought to how frozen foods came to be? Now here's a thought: did you know that the origins of the computer mouse included a carved-out 2x4? Well, these and many more ideas were presented and explored at Pecha Kucha Night at the Arts Court on Daly Street. Each guest speaker was able to show 20 slides and talk for only 20 seconds about each, to elaborate on their idea at hand.
This clever idea originated in Tokyo, and was a way for young designers to meet, to network and to discuss their work. You can check out their website here to see if an event is coming to YOUR city. They've already been held in Paris, Dubai and Stockholm (276 cities worldwide) and are online for you to view if you are desperate for some inspiration. I, for one, am very much looking forward to the next event which is apparently in the works for March.
