From One Extreme to the Other...
This is what I meant by when you really notice someone's pride of ownership, especially when beside a home where perhaps the financial means just isn't there to keep up the necessary maintenance. Ottawa is a city of contrast and it is not uncommon in the areas surrounding the city's core to have such such an extreme discrepancy between domaines.
On a completely different side of the topic, one of the key directions of the 2003 City Plan is that Ottawa shall 'grow in, not out'. Perhaps this is why there is such a push for construction in the inner city? I don't envy these people trying to get in and out of their front doors, or the businesses trying to stay afloat. It is good to revitalize, but not destroy the livelihood of the community in the process.
