Tucked Away Resting Place
Beechwood Cemetery in the east end of Ottawa is hands-down the most beautiful and well taken care of cemetery I have ever set foot in. And I've been in quite a few. Not odd (really!!), I promise you! At any rate, this beautiful crypt is tucked away in a corner, and upon closer observation I discovered it is actually built into the hill behind. Recognized as Canada's National Cemetery, the largest resting place in Ottawa has over 75,000 of every nationality buried on over 64 hectares of land. Many of those resting are quite famous, including former Prime Minister Sir Robert Borden. From what I could find out, it appears that this crypt belongs to Samuel Howell, who was a successful Ottawa merchant. http://www.beechwoodcemetery.com

Gorgeous building! I love cemeteries, you can find in them the most curious and beautiful things. And very often as well, they are real wildlife sanctuaries.
