Deo, Rigi, Vicino • To God, My King, My Neighbour
You never know what you'll find when out and about, eyes wide open, ready to turn any corner or drive down any possible street. This was how we stumbled across this brightly painted doorway in The Glebe, a popular district just West of downtown Ottawa. The boys were drawn to a stray calico kitten , and me to the vibrant fuschia door. As it turns out, the May Court Club, is Canada's first women's service club, heralded by Lady Aberdeen in 1898. She said, "It is in the power of women everywhere, to make society what they will." And so the May Court Club was born. The Club continues the legacy yet has graciously evolved its Programs and Charitable Duties over the last 111 years. http://www.maycourt.org
