Blessed St. Xenia of Petersburgh Parish
When we moved here and I couldn't get my bearings, this landmark would lend itself as my guide home, as it is easily visible from Highway 417. The small Mission of about 50 people had very humble beginnings indeed, as they held services in parishioner's homes! In 1997, only 9 years later, with much help from a quickly growing community this Russian Orthodox Church was erected. To find out more about the Church and namesake, the eccentric St. Xenia, read on: http://www.stxenia.ca/en/index.html

Beautiful image! Interesting reading about Xenia too!
Cheers and thanks for visiting!
That's an interesting effect, the dome looks about to melt into the sky. St Xenia is the patron saint of the homeless - looks like she took good care of her parishioners :)
