A Canadian Legend
You probably have never heard of Stompin' Tom Connors, so please let me introduce you! He gets the name "Stompin'" Tom because he wore out so many stages due to his beat-keeping boot-stomping. A real legend, Stompin' Tom has been belting out tunes about Canada for over 60 years and this year celebrates the release of his 50th album. As well, just released on July 2nd of this year, Canada Post honoured the singer (along with other well known Canadians) with his very own commemorative postage stamp. Simple songs like "The Hockey Song", "Muffaraw Joe" and "Bud the Spud" although may not "fit" into this high-tech world of today, paint a picture of a much simpler, less-serious time. Humble, down-to-earth, and a little rough around the edges, but always good foot-stompin' fun.

If you happen to be in Manitoba sometime when Stompin' Tom's touring it would be worth it to go and see him! Thanks for visiting:)
I haven't heard Stompin' Tom in decades, but I'll never forget Bud the Spud, from the dark red mud!!! I think I saw him play the Peterborough Ex when I was young. Welcome to CDP.
